Immigrant Integration Support Services

At Shalom House, we provide support and resources for our community, and enhance the integration and contribution of immigrants, especially those of African descent, settle into Canadian community especially here in BC. These services include:

1. Information Sharing: We provide important information to help them quickly adapt to their new surroundings, including local customs and laws. To facilitate their fast integration into Canadian society by providing information, resources, and advocacy that empower individuals and families to thrive.
2. Employment Assistance: We help with job searches, writing resumes, preparing for interviews, and recognizing foreign qualifications.
3. Community Support and Engagement: We organize social events, educational programs, mentorship programs, networking opportunities and support groups to help newcomers feel connected and address their diverse needs.
4. Housing Assistance: We assist in finding stable and affordable housing.

Our goal which is to create a welcoming community where immigrants can thrive and contribute have been achieved with over 20 families of African descent welcomed and integrated into our ever growing community here BC.
